Ian is an old friend of mine. He popped over to get some shots done after I said I promised to get him into my studio many months ago.

Livvy was one of the many gorgeous girls I met at a beauty contest held in the summer of 2010. She popped into my studio to do a few shots and I had alot of fun working with her.

UPDATE: All good things to those who wait, however Livvy’s photos have been moved to this website. If you want to see more then click here to view them.

Young Alex’s father responded to a post I wrote on Facebook (isn’t social networking great). I was not expecting someone so young but I accepted the challenge without hesitation. When the arrived she was initially shy as to be expected. As we continued the shoot she soon became more and more confident. As you can see from the photos the camera absolutely loves her! Apparently there is a double life sized portrait of her at the illustrious London Symphony Orchestra building! The future is very bright and promising for Alex as you can see from these photos.

Pregnancy Photoshoot

Let’s face it, a pregnancy photograph without the focus on bump is pointless. So the worst thing you can do is have poor lighting. So when I was approached a few months ago to photograph a mum, bump and husband I could only think of a stylistic way of shooting it.

Personally I don’t like alot of light used in some photography, it feels cold and clinical. I like the dark brooding shots with controlled lighting.

With this pregnancy shot, I had no intention of flooding the stage with lots of illumation, instead it is a very simple white light supported high above the subjects, then with a bit of trial and error I got the shot I wanted very quickly. There’s no point in “faffing” around with other lights. Saying that, when I do this again I do have an idea of a back light with a colour filter on it. And who said babies weren’t fun?
